22 mid-grade storytellers went on a role-playing storytelling adventure, which turned into an illustrated book!

Our mid-grade storytellers developed characters and immersed themselves in the Junkyard world. Over the course of the summer, they told several stories, and the collaborated on this camp children's book!

28 of our youngest told their original stories as puppet shows.

Our youngest storytellers (ages 6 - 9) developed characters and built puppets of those characters, which would then culminate in a series of puppet shows!

Our youngest storytellers wrote, designed, built and performed these original puppet show stories. Here are clips from a few of the shows.

14 Teenagers wrote, edited, and recorded these audio stories that complete the Summer Camp series

They began by creating individual mice characters that had a full back story leading up to the camp, complete with a pedagogical impulse behind the character's personal motivation. The result was remarkable!

"Outside the Pages"

This story is from Rory who lives in Georgia and writing fantasy stories, and playing D&D. Her story is about Quill the solitary mouse who doesn't usually enjoy large groups. 

"Finding Lady La-Fontaigne"

This story is from Sofia who lives in Australia. Her story is about a rabbit named Henrietta, grand-daughter to Lil-Momma, who learns true leadership. 

"I Miss My Parents"

This story is from Kai who lives in California and enjoys voice acting and math. His story is about Amber, a mouse who is forced to navigate some teasing from another mouse. 

"It's Not Good to be a Mean Mouse"

This story is from Line who lives in New England and loves reading and creating comics. Their story is about Dandy, a reactive mouse who has a hard time making new friends. 

"Max Wants to Win"

This story is from Simon who lives in Chicago and is a master lego artist.  This story is about Max the mouse who learns that winning isn't the only way to have fun. 

"Zilla Goes to Camp"

This story is from Gabriella who lives in Texas and loves writing. Her story is about Zilla the mouse . 

"The Time One-Eyed Dave Went to Camp"

This story is from Bowen who lives in Canada. His story is about One-eyed Dave, a mouse who would rather stay home because he did not enjoy doing new things. 

"It's Ok to be Alone"

This story is from Faith who lives in Portugal and loves crocheting and skateboarding. Her story is about Pepper the mouse and how she overcame her fear of being separated by the group. 

"Rowan’s day at Junkyard Summer Camp"

This story is from Milo who lives in Minnesota and loves writing, history, and animals.  This story is about Rowan the mouse and how they overcame their fear of being separated by the group. 

"The Day I will Never Forget"

This story is from Madeline who lives in Texas and loves writing and swimming. Her story is about Cam, a mouse who overcomes her fear of dogs by being of service to others. 

"Camp with Cats"

This story is from Violet. Her story is about a mouse named Rose who is afraid of cats. This all changes when she meets Ben Thompson!
